Whenever you start a business or intend to have your current one last in time what is the most important thing? Quality? Timeliness? Improvement in brand and marketing? All this is of course crucial to make the wheels keep turning, but there is something that underlies them all and in fact represents the fuel your business engine needs to not go to rust: a solid team.
There are two kinds of team which should always be intertwined and in constant communication: the company team and that formed by the company and each of its clients.
What are the benefits of teamwork? Above all, coherence. A solid (permanent) and organized team will always be ready for the unexpected and act accordingly. If all projects are correctly handled and solved by all members the company becomes more reliable. This also entails watching each other’s back when necessary, which is why every member should fulfill a specific function but also act as a complementary helper when someone is missing or a link of the chain needs reinforcements.
A team also ensures effectiveness. Proven solutions mean progress and development.
On the human side, support is essential, not only regarding tasks and professional errands but also, and equally important, moral support. If all members respect one another and help each other mutually there is a lower chance of failure and more chances of personal and group success. Democratic debates and joint problem-solving contribute to a stronger group. When negotiations are established with a client, we need to make sure to be on the same page, make sure we know what we’re talking about and have our client understand our perspective, and vice versa. Communication is an invaluable human asset, and the more we put it to use the better results we will get.
Remember: the bottom line is always human beings, like you and me. As long as we act as such we will have a dignified and professional outcome.
